I have a 2009 VW CC. Love it!!! The check engine light came on about a month ago, but the car runs fine. When I took it to the dealership, they said the spark plugs where black with carbon and changed all four. The car ran fine for 2 days then the check engine light came on again. Even though the car ran fine, the dealership now says that they received an OBD code of P0303.

They want to open the intake manifold, clean all four cylinders and replace the injector in cylinder 3 for about $650. Has anyone experienced the same problem and how was your problem resolved? Does the dealership's approach sound reasonable?

Sounds dead reasonable. This engine carbons up in the intake manifold because fuel goes right into the cylinder and NOT on the intake valve like most engines. That is why it's called "direct injection." We do it all the time at our dealer on the FSI and TSI engines 2.0T. You probably can get away without doing the injector.
