I know that getting our car rustproofed voids our Rust protection warranty, but are any of you planning on having it done anyways?
The warranty itself is for perforation, which obviously is not something we'll have to worry about for quite some time... but I don't want ANY rust, surface or not!
I'm torn, but I'm leaning towards having it done. What do you guys think?

I've never done it on my vehicles, but I kind of wish I had on the truck. The salt on the roads was actually eating away and the protective crap the factory sprayed on. I'm sure VW has a better system though.
The oil or waxy sprays should not void the warranty. Drilling holes to inject it WILL. I would stay far away from the black tar stuff. It dries out, cracks, lets water in and then traps it, accelerating the rusting. I plan on an underbody spray of something soon. My only issue is the plastic covers under the length of the car should be removed to get in under them. That is going to be work.
That makes sense. I was kind of confused as to why taking extra precautions to protect your car would void any sort of warranty. I will ensure that NO holes are drilled when I get it done.
Any suggestions on a name brand or type of rustproofing I should look for? I've never had it done to any previous cars...

Aren't our Rabbits made with galvanized steel? Seems kinda pointless... But it doesn't snow here so...

I have never had it done, and likely never will. My truck is coming up on 9 years old, and is just now getting rust. I live in Michigan and we love to salt everything. Roads, sidewalks, french fries, etc.
