    returning sold vehicle

Bought a car. Not a rabbit, but a mkiv jetta 1.8T. Having problems with it, and the deal just seems to keep getting shadier as time goes by. Already forked out $185 for a tow bill. (the day after the purchase) .. which we have yet to be reimbursed for. Though it has a brand new water pump, timing belt, and tensioner, the a/c doesn't work.. and I have already sat for a 2hr wait.. for them to tell me they can't fit me in today. Have yet to make a payment due to recontracting (they had the car in the shop for a month), and now tomorrow, they are willing to recontract again. On top of this, they have already tried to pull money from our account.. TWICE.. therefore screwing us over.. again.

We want to return the jetta tomorrow. has anyone experienced anything like this, or having to return a vehicle due to unsatisfactory results?

word for central texans. DON'T go to Tranum VW. Seriously. Save yourself the trouble.

Get a lawyer. They might of intentionally kept it in the shop longer to prevent you from having the ability to give it back.

The problem with the shop was A) Due to it being the day after purchase, the paperwork had not reached the bank, nor the extended warranty company. .. therefore, working progress could not have been made. Re-contracted, so we went through the same problem again.

I know they didn't keep the car so we wouldn't be able to return it, but I'm thinking... me.. 6 months down the road, super pregnant and dealing with these people.. I'd wind up in jail.

I've heard of people returning their vehicles, i just didn't know if there'd be any advice on here.

Look up lemon laws. You may have some recourse there.

And next time try taking our advice on what cars will be miserably unreliable - we all called it .

as soon as you drive the car off the lot you own it (as long as you are approved for the financing you signed up for)

Lemon law only applies if the car spends a certain amount of time in the shop over the course of a year.. not sure exactly how long but its several months for different things or like 3 times for the same thing.

If you bought the car "as is" then the dealership has no responsibility for the state of the car....EVEN if it is unsafe....they are required to perform a safety inspection before it is sold but that pretty much is limited to brakes and tires.
