I have a 2011 CC with 44,000 miles. The valve cover gasket is leaking which I find odd as it is silicone. However, once I took the plastic cladding off and could see what I was getting into, I see the "super high volume" fuel pump runs off the back of the camshaft and needs removed to replace the valve cover. Has anyone done this and what problems should I expect like needing a factory reset for the car to run? Mechanic labor book shows 5 hours, seems like there is more to it than it appears. Thank you!
UPDATE:
VW quoted me $1,016.50 for the replacement of the valve cover gasket that should never really need replaced as it is silicone. Outrageous if you ask me. Any thoughts out there?
