I just got my hands on a pair of gti xenon headlights got them for 500 on craigslist what a steal the only thing i need now is a highline cecm dont know where to get one dont wanna go to the stealership also is it easy to install
did you get ballasts as well? What year is your car? It's not too difficult to install the CECM as far as I've READ - but I haven't done it myself. Search for Nitroscope's posts as he had to do it for his car. There's also thread about it on the Vortex so head over to there (forums.vwvortex.com) and search for it. If you have an '08 with the MFD - you already have a highline CECM.
2008 Rabbit 2DR, 5-speed
08 no mfd and did get the ballast
This has been covered a bajillion times, but I would caution u against doing the OEM install. IMO I would only do it if I already had a highline CECM installed.
Reasons- You're gonna spend 100-250 on the CECM, then you have coding issues, so unless you plan on spending a lot more time and $$ just use the housings, and buy an aftermarket HID kit and you're good to go. No highline necessary, and no coding.
I'm actually doing the same thing, I just bought the housings off 2 different guys on vortex for 250 total, and this way I can just drop in the HID kit in whatever color temp I want, (5000K) and best of all, get it done in one afternoon.
FYI u could sell the ballasts - guys are always looking for them.

can the dealership do the cecm swap and how much do yall think they would charge to do the swap if they supplied the highline cecm because i really want to install fogs and the xenon lights and i dont want to do the relay install on the fogs i like to keep it oem although im thinking of putting a 3000k hid kit on the fogs so it can have the gti look
