Just found a 2nd hand I.P to replace the one that wasn't spittin fuel real good. I installed this one & timed it with the dial gauge.
This replacement I.P though seems to be stuck in high RPM as soon as the engine starts up. LOTS of blue smoke
Word is, this is the governor sticking - and there's a good cause to believe so considering this pump ran W.V.O during its life, then was decommissioned & sat dry for a few years before being sold to me for a very reasonable price.
Just ordered an I.P rebuild kit and am hoping between these two partially working pumps I can get one of em 100% again.
Was hoping too perhaps that running the sticky one with seafoam & diesel and or HOT veggie oil would help loosen stuff up but the engine started over heating not too long into the purge.
The overheating's prob just sudden additional cooling issues like the fan not kicking in but nevertheless the high RPMS at idle really got her hot quick.
I'm going to try priming the entire pump with A.T.F & let it sit over the next few days while waiting for the rebuild kit in the mail.
Oh Boy
