my vote goes to sarah, i know her miles are up there.

i'm at 12,400, had it for a year on january 23rd.

i don't think anyone can top the miles my boyfriend puts on his car. he got his sky in march last year and he's up to 41k now, and it's not his only car.
i'm outdoorsy in that i like getting drunk on patios.

My rear brakes started having some very loud grinding noise around 18,000. I took it to the dealer, paid the $80 diagnostic fee for them to tell me I needed new brake pads. At 18,000 miles, my rear brakes should not be failing!

My Left Side was -2/32. My right side was 5/32.

They didn't tell me that... I was amazed they wanted 440$ to slap some pads and rotors on, so I took down the the shop my father uses for all his commercial trucks. They pulled off the tires, which VW never bothered doing and when compressing the Left side, they found the piston was jammed. They unstuck the pistons and put a new set of pads on for the weekend until we could find a resolution with VW. I left and drove around 150 miles round trip (all highway) and when I got out my left rotor was glowing red. I know this may sound like I am exaggerating, but it was red!

VW said this was due to "driving style" and therefore was not covered under warranty. I paid the dealer the 440$ to replace the brakes, so there was not a question of using the wrong parts down the road. The service manager and I got into it several times, as I drive 40,000 miles a years, with the majority of these being on a commercial vehicle. I do not race this car, and have been to several driving schools, so I really didn't feel "driving style" was an issue. They stood by the fact that since it was over 12,000 miles, that it would not be covered under warranty.

VW refused to replace the left caliper as they said they could find no evidence anything was defective and it would not be a practical decision. After arguing with them, I left the dealer with my new pads and rotors went back to the commercial shop and had them replace the calipers. I can not afford to have this happen again and have the brakes lock up while driving at highway speeds, and kill me and my passengers.

VW just does not get it.

Well there's the long answer of why the whole rear brakes were replaced.

    One Problem

I'm at 7500 now. At 1000 miles I had a fuel pump issue. It, of course, was under warranty.
