    Turbo Failure

I have an 05 Golf TDI, just had to replace turbo 2nd one in the last two years. 1st one was rebuilt and installed at a VW dealer. 2nd one is rebuilt too but had a local shop install it. Now the car when running down the highway will hesitate briefly then run normal for a mile or two then hesitate again no real pattern then it will run for several miles then do it again. No warning lights no check engine light? Car has 228000 miles on it love to drive it but need to figure out the problem. I think it is the engine but could be the tranny? Help

    Re: Turbo Failure

My '06 Jetta TDI acts like that every time the fuel filter gets dirty. Runs great again with a fresh one. Usually lasts about 10-20k miles. I keep an extra filter in the garage at all times now.
