OK... on going problem with my71 Super 34 pict3 has been it wasn't idling no matter what I tried to do. Checking with carb cleaner spraying on the shaft proved my major problem was worn shaft bushings. I had an old carb that I played with on some different ideas. I finally got some good results, whether it is permanent or not, by the following.
I found that a 3 mL syringe outer case was a perfect fit for the housing of the carb shaft opening. However the inner diameter was too large. I took some of my waxed thread from my leather work and wound it around the shaft tightly. Since it seals against itself and has a lubricant somewhat existing, it make a tight fit in the plastic and still freely turned.
A few trial and error test fits and I have it ready to install.
So far It has worked well. She now idles better. I don't know how long it will work but I expect it to get me to a point when I can afford to do better.
