I have a new (to me) 1979 Beetle that I do not yet know much about. I know it was rebuilt not too long ago. I'm trying to learn how to keep it running though which it unfortunately stopped doing today. I opened the hood and found the (bare with me) long flexible silver hose on the very left side was completely off and destroyed. I've searched and cannot figure out yet what this does. I'm assuming this is the source of my problem. It has been sluggish from idle this spring.
do you mean the pipe i have circled ? if so that is for the heating. it goes from the engine in to the heater channels.
