Hey guys!
Been lurking around here for a while, figure I would post with a question-
I have an '07 Rabbit with around 42,000 miles on it, and my question is this; why is it that when I am stopped, COMPLETELY stopped, and have the clutch fully depressed, that my reverse gears seems to be hard to put in/even a little chatter? It sounds like a synchro problem; the car also sounds strange when backing up when in gear (kind of like an RC car). Help?
at a stand-still > select second gear > almost engage the clutch (just enough to make the car move an inch) > then move to reverse (without going to the neutral position).
if it works with second gear, try doing the same thing with first gear...

That RC-car sound I recognize from MOST cars actually..
