I took the 11 mm headed bolt out. It is of the older 2 piece speedometer cable. I have been pulling ...kicking, biting, scratching this darn cable for 30 min. now. I dont want to break it, it still work good. But I wouldnt mind getting it out today sometime. Any other ideas before pulling out the rest of my gray hair.
Thanks
Rich
Don't feel too bad, I don't think Kammy ever got hers out either...
You could try jacking the car to get the weight off then car in gear slowly rotate one tire as you try to remove the cable.

That would be correct! Many years later, it's still in there. The only reason I wanted to remove it, was to replace it with a one-piece cable.
People gave me various suggestions over on VWvortex (in between all of the "weird, mine just popped right out" posts) and none of them worked, so I gave up. I'll give it another try eventually. If you get yours out, let me know what worked!
