Hello all,
I'm new to the threads (and to modding any sort of car) so I thought I'd drop by and say hi, introduce myself and my Rabbit, and get some general input. I drive a 5-speed 2009 Rabbit in United Gray, and love it to death. My previous vehicle was a 2005 GTI which I owned for a whole 3 months or so before a spontaneous electrical fire claimed it. I'd have to say I actually like the Rabbit better... I got a little screwed on the price with warranties and stuff, but hey I've learned my lesson and I'm gonna make the most of this vehicle. It feels like it was made for me and I've put so many miles on it that it feels more like home than where I'm living. I'll post some pictures later! I'm interested to see if anyone else has the stock wheels I have, because I haven't seen anyone else with them.
I'm currently working on fixing some damage to the front from where I hit a mailbox in an unfortunate situation about a year ago and doing some small exterior mods. I ordered a new bumper and other small parts and will hopefully have that fixed within the next two months. I also took the emblems off the back and will be tinting the taillights tomorrow, exciting.... I also took out the rear bench so the back will sit down flat for more chill room. Does anyone else chill in the back of their car in the summer?? It's a great place to sit and read or smoke a hookah at a park. I'll post some pics my back seat set up later as well.
I work as a detailer, so I have access to a garage to do mods and such with, but unfortunately I'm clueless as to where to start with anything that's not an aesthetic change. Does anyone have any suggestions for simple, fairly inexpensive mods that will improve performance? I've already lightened it as much as is practical for me.
Looking forward to chatting with all of you on here,
Noah
Hi Noah
I am a fairly recent new owner of a 2009 Rabbit also, it is a United gray 2 door. I'll be posting some pics soon.
Best
