    Newbie with 14" wheel question?

    Hi everyone,
I've had my 08' Rabbit since new, my lease was up a few months back so I went ahead and decided to buy my car.
My car is stock with 15" Steelies. I found some EMPI 14" wheels locally and have been searching google and several forums for hours, trying to find out if I can even fit these 14" rims to my car?
This is what I know after contacting the owner, the Lug pattern is 5x112 which is a good start, the rim diameter is 14" and the width of the wheel is 8" which the owner said translates to about 6-6.5" tire width. He had them on his VW Westfalia van.
Although the classifieds are local, the owner is still a 2+ hour round trip away, I want to try and find out as much as I can.
I guess my main concern is having to change parts on the car to get them to fit which would not be cost effective, and also what tire size would i need? Also the TPMS?
Any help is appreciated, thank you.

    Welcome to VWOC.

Unfortunately, I don't believe the brakes would clear 14" wheels. The 15" steelies barely clear them as is.

Fairdo's, thank you for the reply. In that case does anyone know of any baby moon or retro beetle hubcaps that will fit over the lug bolts? Maybe the new beetle center caps? Thanks.
