Hi all, I need to get a roof rack for my 2012 VW Golf 5-door. I am looking at either Thule or the OEM from VW... My dealer will sell me the OEM at their cost ($320) and Thule will be about $550 so based on price this is a no brainer, however I want to hear if anyone has thoughts on this.
- Does the OEM cause alot of wind noise?
- Any issues with attachments on the OEM? (I will most likely have a Thule box and 2 bike carriers)
- Has anyone put the front windscreen (ie Thule fairing)

You can get it a bit cheaper from KefferVW. A lot of people run the Thule or yakima fairings. The wind noise is tolerable and depends a lot more on what you have on the rack than the rack itself.
