So i've had the car for little over a year and all of a sudden the windshield is fogging up really bad. If i don't use the A/C the window is completely covered in fog to the point where it is dangerous to drive.
Am i doing something wrong? I don't want to use the A/C if i don't have to as it uses up energy and i don't want to be in the cold when it's cold outside??
When i turn off the A/C and use cold and hot settings the windshield remains foggy.
What am i doing wrong?
Please help !!!
Turning on the AC is the easiest and fastest way to defog the windshield. The reason the windshield is fogging up is because there's too much humidity in the cabin and ac will work the best to remove it. Some cars automatically turn it on in defog mode. You can turn up the temperature dial while the AC is on so it's not blowing really cold air, it won't be a problem.

Turning on ac and recirc will defog the quickest. Also, there may be an issue with the recirc flap motor if this is a sudden thing. The motor won't close or open the recirc flap. If it is stuck closed that may explain your issue. If this is the case there may be an error code stored in the system. This would be covered under your bumper to bumper if you aren't over 36k miles.
