this is my first post ever so if there are mistakes in here, please forgive, i own a 2006 VW Caddy Van 1.9 tdi, & my problem I believe is my tandem pump. but firstly i'll give the symptoms.

I got car serviced ny official dealer two weeks ago & they said there was an oil leak form from tandem pump. price to fix is 570 euro for part + 2hrs @ 68euro hour. I asked if it could be repaired & they said no, must be new one fitted. that was too expensive for me at time & I let it pass.

However now two later, van is making a intermittent hissing sound & blowing blue smoke at same time, Every time I stop to look under bonnet, it's gone & its hard to explain to garage without getting charged a fortune for dianostics. Is this issue down to the tandem pump or is it something else do you think?

I'd appreciate any pointers.
