    DIY Intake...Dont laught Im cheap

So I had a day off work been looking at intakes the last two weeks and decided to make one myself I have lots of experience about 6 yrs as a mechanic 2 as a fabricator and welder plus some formal education. But Im in the army now so I dont have access to a shop or anything. Did this in about 5 min at autozone and about 25$ for filter sure Im not the first...and wont be the last. Def noticed a huge difference in power that was with my car full of junk in the hatch. Gonna try to find somewhere to make a heatshield or cover but like I said limited by time and resources.

IMO you're kind of defeating the purpose of an intake if you have it set up ti suck in hot air from the back of the engine bay. Just my 2¢.

No intake will give you a "huge" power gain, slight, mostly just a sound difference. And yes, that's definitely pulling in air from the hottest part of your engine bay.

Well I plan on building a tube going in front of the battery, and the stock one sits basically above the exhaust. I just cant bring myself to spend 250 or more on an intake when u can spend some time and make something decent that will serve the same purpose

I agree. I know a couple guys have made them out of a bit of metal pipe with tubes acting as the bungs. Leon did one and might have even made a thread. He'll chime in I'm sure. Creativity is always applauded.

    After seeing this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCi2y...&feature=g-u-u

It made me feel like a tool for buying a 250 dollar tube that does little to nothing. >.> But it makes a great noise and throttle response is a bit better.
