Found a 1977, 1979, 1984 Diesel Rabbit... Which is the better deal?

Hello, as you can see I am new to the forum. However, I am looking to get an early model Diesel Rabbit. I have found these three on Craigslist, and two of them sound like pretty good deals, except one won't start, and two of them (77' & 84') are in Tulsa (I'm currently in Fort Riley (Manhattan) KS. Also, The third (79') is in Lincoln, NE and the guy want's $4,000. What do you think?

4000 is a bit much. It's not that desirable of a classic, but it does appear to be in the best shape.

Yeah, that's what I thought... I was thinking possibly 2,500 at the max, but nothing more.. Now, on the one that starts but doesn't run... could that possibly be an easy fix?

I'd be scared of anything that was 20+ years old and cranked but didn't start/run. It might be a simple fix, IE replacing the starter cable but it could turn out to be a nightmare.

Very true, So I guess Ill have to see it first before I decide...
