Hello all, new member here with a 2012 3.6 SEL. Awesome car, got it after a Golf TDI (thinking I could have gone Passat TDI, but love the 3.6 acceleration). Have it since November 2011 and already 12,500 miles. Excellent highway cruiser.

Adding a radar detector to the Passat, the fuse box does not have a fuse location diagram, and the owners manual doesn't have one. To "hardwire" the Escort 9500, I need to know the fuses so I can use the right one to have power off when the car is off. I am using an empty spot now, but it is always hot so have to remember to turn off detector.
Have any of you seen a fuse diagram? They are typically on the fuse cover as a sticker, but not in the Passat. Thank you.

The car does not have the diagram. Grab a test light and probe each fuse until it lights with key on and turns out with key off. Most fuses are this way....so it seems just your luck youf ound one with power all the time. Tap into your cig lighter fuse. its yellow 20 amp fuse.

Coworker has a 2012 Tdi Passat. His cig lighter's aren't working so I looked in his fuse panel by the front door. There's a green 30 amp fuse that's blown. Does that seem right? I wasn't able to pull/check them all but found the green 30a towards the bottom. Seemed like a big fuse for the 12v sockets!
