new (used) 2007 rabbit additions

hey guys just started on the forum with my used 2007 rabbit. I love the car and it runs great, but have few exterior and interior minor problems that I plan to fix. The hood has about 6 dents on it. I want to replace the hood, but I'm not sure if I should get a cheaper one that might lack quality, or the more expensive alternative. I'm not worried about matching color because I want to vinyl it anyway. I wanted to get a tune, possibly install cold air intake. What has anyone done other than that to gain horsepower? Is an intake even worth it for the car?

Intake is mostly a sound mod. You might notice a little better throttle response too. Have you thought about picking up a catback exhaust? Also, depending on how much you want to spend you can go with a turbo setup or get a C2 short runner intake manifold. Search around the forum a little bit, there's tons of info around here.

I'm going to get an exhaust in the future when i've got the funds haha, but i've heard the short runner doesn't really bring big gains to hp and torque. I'll keep looking around, thanks.

So the Takeda cold air was dyno tested by USP and it showed gains. You should get that one it's on sale now for $230-$240.

Short Runner Intake Manifold (SRI), not Short Ram Intake (IE Neuspeed P-flow, or Evolution Tunings setup). There are actually some decent gains from the manifold swap, it's just expensive.
