Picked up my first VW the other day. 1996 GTI 2.0 5 speed for 900$.
The goods new tire all around, new brakes, body is 98%rust free, nre wires, plugs, and hoses.
Needs a clutch(going in now), a couple floor patches on the driver side, and a couple other small TLC problems
I think I got a good deal.

About the only thing I wanna do is a double din cd/dvd/gps. Got it as a work commuter. 40 miles one way and a once a month drive to drill 160 miles one way the Ram was killing me. In the future maybe a TDI I dunno. That would only be if the 2.0 failed me.
