I've seen a lot posted. Stickies arguments etc. However I'm still undecided 100% on what I want to do.
I am leaning more on lowering springs. I've heard they are bad for your struts but are very uncomplicated.
And coilovers I'm not to concerned about being super low. And are a bit more pricey.
So what I am looking at is an updated opinion on peoples personal expirrience on both and preference.
Thanks.

Ive had both. Im a fan of coils. And racelands are comparable to the price of good springs and you dont have to worry about blowing out struts. Also you have the option of setting your ride height to exactly where you want it. Just my $0.02

keeping a group of VWs at 65-70mph on a trip to Florida is like trying to get your girlfriend to have a 3-some with a stripper.
Won't you need to pull the same stuff apart to get to the springs anyway? Might as well do the coilovers. I had the VW driver gear springs first. Then coils. Save yourself the step.

^this. If anything coils are easier to put back in lol other than that exact same install.

I've got the H&R cup kit and I love it, no worrying about balancing just put them in and go. And if your going to do springs you might as well do it right the first time and get the struts. My cup kit gives great performance (no bouncing like coils) and it dropped the car abt 2.5" and I've had them on the car for about 3 years now and they are as good as they were when I put them on.

The HR Cup Kit does not drop the MK5 platform 2.5".

coils. if you can afford them, get them. i struggled with the same thing for months until i decided to shell out the extra cash and get coils. definitely do it if you can!
