    Accumulator may be leaking fuel

Its a bit damp at the end but there is a rubber boot covering most of the valve. Is there a breather hole at the end? And how bad do I need this little sweet heart....for $182.
    Thanks

kind sorta bad, and there is no breather hole that I have ever seen on one. I would bet the oring between the parts of the assembly is shot.

I've seen the dampness on my own vehicle and it never caused any problems. It might be normal-condensation or whatever. If it doesn't drip gas, I wouldn't worry. Just my opinion. I've had one '81 Rabbit and four gas '81 Rabbit pickups. I've had a number of fuel system issues, but the accumulator hasn't been one of them (yet?).

    Thanks James,
I dont have any drips just moist. Now the upper hose inlet broke off. Hate these cheap ass plastic radiators.

I agree on the plastic, but they used to make a brass and copper replacement, but what with the cost of copper these days I imagine it is more than the 110 bucks it cost me in 1982....

You have to remember that the older the radiator is the more brittle the plastic becomes....so you have to take it way easier.

Re: Accumulator may be leaking fuel

I just got that radiator used with some other parts. Came from a 90 Rabbit. Nice aluminum/plastic. My old one is all metal but may just take to a radiator shop and see about cost to rebuild. It wasnt leaking but needed a good inside cleaning. But there again I can get a new plastic one for $60 free shipping.

I was adjusting the clutch and something started dripping on me head. Well if you remember the hoses are on the other side. But it was snapped off right at the hose clamp. Live and learn/dont buy old plastic rad.
