Has anyone besides myself had issues with the Conti's that come standard on the CC Sport?
I have just under 30,000 miles on my CC and the tires are feathering, showing abnormally high wear and are noisy to the point where you can't think. My dealer tells me he's had other complaints about this but I see nothing on the interent on this subject.
I have heard nothing but good thins about pro-contacts and have them myself; while mine dont have nearly as many miles on them as yours. feathering at 30,000 miles is quite a bit early for a tire I've heard of getting nearly 60,000 miles out of. Maybe you just got a bad set? things happen unfortunately![]()

On long island it's common place to replace tires at 30k to 40k miles. Some wear faster, some slower. I know what you are talking about and I feel the 235 width tires feather more than smaller sizes. Even a 225 doesn't have nearly as many problems. Keep your alignment in check and tire pressures correct. Even if the car goes straight OR the wheel is centered, that does NOT mean your alignment is right.

Thanks guys, I've had the dealer check the alignment and I'm rather OCD when it comes to pressure and evrything else so I know it's nothing wiht my driving or the roads here in FL. I'm planning on contacting Continental since I've seen some comments on the internet that relate some horror stories with these tires.

How often do you rotate tires

As much as I hate to say it, I think my stock Conti's will last another 2 summers. I want to replace them so bad but can't justify it.
Most common cause of Feathering, bad toe in or deteriorated bushings in the front suspension that cause the alignment to shift as you drive. I really doubt it's the tires. Did you get the before and after alignment settings from the dealer?

I rotate tires based on manufacturers specs. As far as the feathering issue, my dealer tells me it seems ot becommon with these tires on CC's
I MAY have been on another forum and I MAY have seen other information that says that cupping and feathering are common problems with the Conti's on the sport and R-line trim levels. A lot of people are complaining about accelerated wear but no one has posted any definate information as to why or how to correct it. Most people are just replacing their tires at about 30,000 miles.
Hey Pjb707,
I have a '12 CC with the same tires, only 3500 miles so far and yes, they are very noisey. On smooth highway roads they're ok, on back roads or any surface where grooves are etched in, forget it. They do shed water well and handling is predictable and good. I just cant wait until the wear out so I can replace them.
What are better replacements for the Conti's?
I replaced mine with Yokohama YK 580 tires. while they are not as quiet as Iwould want htem they are certainly better than the Continentals
