Hi all,
I have a 2009 Tiguan, back in early 2010 the rear passenger tire got punctured by a screw so I took it to the dealer and had a plugged. During the 2010 winter season I saw the low pressure warning 2 / 3 times kept checking the air but basically let it go down to a faulty plug so when the weather improved I took it to the dealer and had them check the plug which they told me was fine. Then in 2011 in preparation for the cold weather I had all 4 tires replaced with new ones and all seemed fine but today the warning came on again so I wanted to ask if this could be down to just the cold weather or if the sensor might be faulty or something else?
Many thanks!

When the light comes on, check them with a pressure tester and see what the actual pressure in each tire is.

Will do - didn't unfortunately have time to do that today but I think the past they have all been between 35 - 38....
Oh and do I need to check the spare also?

Your spare is, I think, a temp. spare and has no sensor. It's always a good idea though! Your pressures will be located on the driver door sill. I think your pressures should be 38 psi. If your tires are just 2 psi less than this it can cause a warning to illuminate. If its a warm day out, put them to 40 so it will reduce by 2 psi when it gets cold.

Well turns out I had a screw in my rear passenger.... which is awesome given that these tires are less than 2 months old... but it at least explains the problem! Taking it in tomorrow to be patched.
Thanks for everyone's help.
