In my daughters, 97 I have way to much play in my brake pedal- it is almost hitting the floor. It builds pressure just have to mash it several times. I recently replaced the rotors and pads but it did not make it any tighter. They even pulled the back tires off along with the drums but saw no way of tightening it. I have no clue. Any ideas or things to try.
I was told by my brother that bleeding the brakes should make it tighter however the shop owner said that would not work.

Is the Ebrake working and adjusted right? If you pump several times and get a good pedal, does it slowly leak down?

I have never heard of a ebrake. It seeems to leak down not real drastic just a slow loss of pressure
she has never had a problem stopping the car and the brakes grab but I am not comfortable with her driving with the brake pedal feeling so loose, I know loose is the wrong word. I would like to the brakes start grabbing the minute the pedal is pushed justnot sure how to get it there.
Thanks for your response Nitro I truly appreciate it.

Hand brake, e brake, parking brake, all same thing. If you have NO leaks and the drums are adjusted (if the hand brake is working, then they are adjusted) then the master cylinder is probably faulty.
