I want to install Rabbit (golf V) or jetta seats in my 2010 2dr golf tdi. I am a big guy and the sport seats are just not comfortable.
I can find seats for sale on ebay and stuff, and people on the forums seem to think that a jetta V.rabbit/golf V set of front seats should fit in my golf 6 fine...
Obviously I would want them installed properly and stuff. The seat railings seem to look the same, but basically I have no idea.
Where would I get this done? An upholsterer? Is there anyone here who knows how to do this that I could pay?
Or is this just a crazy idea?
Or is anyone in the bay area into swapping seats?

It's a straightforward swap. You undo 4 Torx bolts under the seat and everything comes out, rails and all. Put the new seat on, replace the bolts, good to go. Be careful with the airbag connectors, they can be fragile. I'm not sure if the connectors mate up exactly, but I would imagine so.

the rear seats from a jetta won't work but the fronts do not sure if the rear seats from a four door rabbit work in a 2dr though

Jetta seats (and 4dr Rabbit/Golf) don't work well in a 2dr as they don't fold forward.
