Question OK so here's my... dilemma (new engine)

I have a 2004 jetta sedan 2.0L GL. pretty much the most garbage one out there. and instead of taking the time to add bolt-on's to it, i want to drop a new engine in it instead. but now im wondering what engine to put in it, what is ideal, and what i need to buy with it? E.G. Clutch/tranny. I am aware its not gonna be cheap. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

The 1.8T or VR6 since they were both available for the car and would fit more easily. Someone else will have to chime in as to what would be required for the swap. I think the 1.8T is more versatile.

Depends on your budget but the 1.8t is a great platform

i would stick with the mk4. get the 1.8t. it is a very good engine and has many upgrades you can do for better performance!! most people upgrade from the stock k03 to the k04 and ive heard its pretty awesome. but i went with t3t4 for more power!!! :b
