2006 VW Jetta 2.5 battery drain in just one night!

    Hello again!

i just got a used 2006 jetta 2.5 and im so frustrated with this car, one thing to another!, recently i bought a brand new battery and replace the door latch and lock, after this i can close my car with the key (drivers door) but not with the keyfob, also i have a few problems more with this door:

    JUST THE DRIVER DOOR
    1. the dash does not notice that the door is open (does not show any light)
    2. the door can not be close by the keyfob
    3. the door can not be lock using the lock/unlock switch (this works fine for every other door)

So after all this, an electrician check every fuse and everything was alright, but i havent check all the wires in this door, so im thinking that might be the problem in the door that is keeping draining my battery or the alarm??

Does anybody knows where is the alarm relay? or what are your toughs?

i think you have a bad door Latch itself...the electronics on them are notorious for going bad...

The rubber boot that near the door hinge.... pull it back and check the wires inside. They probably are cracking or broken. You need to replace the WHOLE door harness with an updated one with longer wires. VW will have the correct part and it's not that expensive. DO NOT try and repair this yourself as you will just cause more problems.
