    Bluetooth and MFD switching

    Hello there,
I have a 2012 VW Tiguan S and able to connect my phone successfully through bluetooth and use. The questions I have is, how to switch between different menus in MFD when the bluetooth is ON. I mean if I wana c the oil temperature when my phone is connected. how do i do it? I read the manual and they are talking about the buttons on the steering wheel(which is for the higher end). How do I do it in my Tiguan S? I clicked ever button in my car, may be I went wrong somewhere. Can anyone help me?

i think your MFD might be controlled through a stalk near the stearing wheel...i could be wrong though...so you have no buttons on your steering wheel at all??

    Re: Bluetooth and MFD switching

nope.. thats what it looks like. wat i can do in my menu is browse through "phonebook", "media player", "settings", "bluetooth" and "back". there is nothing inside of those brings me to browse through MFD. the only display i have is "connect to my phone" display and "my phone" display. Another display I can get is when I open the door. The "car with the door opened" display. Thats it. But when I bought the car I used to browse through other menus(oil temp, avg speed etc) but after I connected to my phone once, I dont know how to get those MFDs... I don't get what you mean by stalk. I think you are referring to the wiper stick which has the option to control the menu. Is it that or there is something else?

The buttons which are there: Left head lamp controller stick(with cruise control options), right wiper controller stick(for sensitive setting wiper thing and browsing the menu), Left button on the display(for editing the time), right button on the display(trip reset button and to increment). Is there something else to get other MFDs or is there a combination I have to do? Below is the link for the interior.

@old dog-- thanks but it doesnt help. I will be taking my Tig for the first check up next week. I think I should clarify with them and I will definitely post the answer here if anyone who is in my same situation can look upon.

    Re: Bluetooth and MFD switching

Greetings, new '12 Tiguan S owner as of yesterday! I have the same issue...during the test drive the MFD and the control stalk worked just fine, on the way home I paired my phone with the bluetooth and now lost the MFD functionality. I will be returning to the dealer tomorrow to pick up an accessory, so I will ask and post if I get an answer.

@kachaps4u, I talked to the dealer today, the trick is to hold the rocker switch up for about five seconds. You'll receive a menu on the display and can choose the MFI/MFD from there, or phone, audio, or a vehicle health indicator which tells you the mileage until oil change. I love this ride!
