I have looked high and low for a water pump pulley for my 1.6 TD. It has a/c and the hub measures 40mm. Does anyone know of a supplier or someone that might have a used one laying around??
I ran into a similar situation. i found out it was easier to swap in a set of pullies from an mk3 diesel than it was to find the darn pulley. Goodluck my friend.
There seems to be many more pulleys available for Mk3 golfs/Jettas . I can deal with an improper offset with the use of shims but am wondering more about the hub diameter and overall diameter. If I found one that fit, I could always play around with belt sizes until I found one that worked. ???????
Shoot that ain't that bad broke. Take it to a Welding shop and have it re-spot welded till you can get one from a wrecking yard.
And it don't matter which diameter that you have, as you can always change the pump...
If you choose a pump, get a Salari. They are a water pump built on Steroids. (buyable at Napa.) Don't ever buy a
plastic impeller.
I actually have a similar one. Ill try to get some pictures . PM sent But if you want to use newer still available parts you want to go to the mk3 serpentine belt setup. I spent about $300 in total but now I get the added benefit of still being able to source all of the parts. http://www.vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php?topic=9599.0
Anyways here are the pictures of the 40mm pulley I have for sale
