just got a 2nd hand Premium 7 radio, 6 cd changer, mp3, black button. original owner did not keep the manual, too bad. i'm testing it now.
all speakers are connected,
power only connected to BATT, and BATT (sense),
no power is connected to CAN, nor MUTE,
GND is connected.
the whole satellite socket is not connected.
few questions:
1) when the radio is playing, it gets rather hot, almost but not quite too hot to touch, is this normal? ii's amazing microchips' normal operating condition is like such, especially with the unit burried in the car. might soldering on the board deteriorate over time too?
2) the radio turns itself off in an hour, is it supposed to do this? anyway to keep it playing as long as on? i held down the SCAN button, the settings menu came up, but there's no setting item related to radio on time.
3) i tested the 4 ground connectors for speakers with multimeter, and they are all not connected among themselves, all open circuits. does this mean i should never put 2 channels in parallel, in order to have a 2 channel stereo output with more power? (for example, putting LF and LR in parallel to form an L channel, with double the power).
4) anywhere i could download a manual for this model? i'd like to find out the specs of this unit, such as speaker impedence, output power, the power rating of the unit, peak current, etc..
thanks a lot for helping!
