Newbie from Scotland :) - advice needed :)

Hi guys possibly saw me on other forums. I'm on loads and have 2 of my own also

Anyway looking at buying a mk4 golf s 1.6 with 114000 miles to use as a daily . How reliable do you think this is ???

Have a look at my other projects below

Current one which is away to undergo a v6 conversion very soon. Already have big bucks spent on it :

    Other cars are a 59 plate corsa . Which is standard and a mk1 Clio 1.8 16v

    Comments and advice welcome

not gonna lie the mk4 are some of the most "problem prone" series at least with the vr6 and 1.8t here in the states not sure about the 1.6 we didnt get it

are there no mk5s around for a close to awesome price? just kidding. i have no clue on the reliability of the 4s.

the 5s, on the other hand, seem to be rather sound machines...

welcome to the VWOC and keep us updated if you decide to pull the trigger on that...

Getting the mk4 for £400 . Can't complain at that and few plans possibly coilovers and nice set of wheels as I don't like standard cars debadged grille also

Most members on the site are from N.A., hence the lack of responses as we don't get many of the engines that are available in Europe. The site is growing internationally, so it's good to see people from other lands.
Sounds like a decent price for that car. Good luck.

    to vwoc!

i've always had the idea that the mkiv's in europe are a step or two better than the ones we got here with the exception of the r32 and jetta wagon (golf wagon to you )

    DAMN good price

    Willkommen!!
