I have been speaking with a coworker about purchasing his 1975 Beetle, the issue however as interested as I am I’m a university student with a tight budget and not a lot of information regarding how much it would take to maintain the car.
What I know about the vehicle, He’s asking for $2500, the reason being because it doesn’t run. Apparently it is in need of new fuel injectors. The car has 859000km on it, lights and radio work so I’m assuming electrical is ok. Also fuel line and gas tank were recently replaced.
What I need information on is, how much it would cost to get the car running or in this case how much fuel injectors would run me more or less? Also how much longer will this engine go for before it most likely dies? Seeing as how the miles are racking up on it. I was also wondering if it would cost a lot to replace or even rebuild the engine.
So I leave this in the expertise of true Beetle Enthusiasts to help me out, I’m sure I’ll have more questions soon.
