    Question Performance Chips

Hey hows it going, I have a 2003 Black Jetta GLI and I wanted to add some power to it. I've been looking into performance chips for the car and wondered what were some good ones for the GLI's. I'm not looking to spend an enormous amount of money. I found a Surge Performance chip by Surge Engineering and an 02 oxygen power chip on myhotvw.com.

Anyone have any good ideas of good performance chips and power chips?

    Thanks!

None of those are any good. The legitimate makers of ECU flashes for your car are:

    Unitronic
    APR
    Revo
    GIAC

Hmm.. I think that about covers it. My recommendation would be Unitronic for the 1.8T. Yeah, they're a bit pricey, but you'll get nothing out of anything else. With one of the above flashes, you'll get HUGE gains. It'll feel like a whole new car.

Ok thanks for the help! Mine is a V6 2.8L, so I'll have to do some more searching.

Ahh, for the VR6 I would recommend C2. There's not much else out there I don't think.

    Re: Performance Chips

What company is the C2 made by? I see Citroen, but I want to be sure. If you have links of where I can find them, or information, it'd be a great help!

C2 Motorsports is the company. Not sure if the 03s were 12v or 24v...

    Re: Performance Chips

Hey as far as the unitronic goes.. Will it work on a 1.8T auto with tiptronic? I've read somewhere that I would need the ECU mod as well as a "tip chip". Can you confirm this?
