Tonight I noticed the low antifreeze light had come on to find that there is a sever antifreeze leak on the passenger side of the engine. The leak can not be seen from the top but while running there is plenty of fluid dripping from the plastic panels under the engine. Has anyone had this problem? Possible know the cause?
Low antifreeze light ??? what's that ?? Is the Tig overheating ?? Never heard of this before at all, guess there coolant pipes and hoses running around the place that could could leak/split/whatever but you'd need to be more specific, can't you see "where" it's actually coming from ?
On my second Tiguan, 2013, TDi, Night Blue, Park Assist 2, RCD510, Bluetooth, auto wipers and lights, fogs, tow pack.
are you sure it is antifreeze? you state 'severe'; is there steam being released from anywhere in the engine bay when the vehicle is running?
are you sure it is not your a.c. unit leaking condensation?

Could be the water pump. It's located in the m iddle of the front of the engine on the 2.0TSI. They tend to piss coolant from time to time and require replacement. All the plastic underbody covers can make coolant leak from areas not near the source.

I have recently had this happen to me twice, once in December and once last week. Both times it was the waterpump that needed to be replaced. Service could not tell me the reason it was happeneing.
