Where are you located? Take it back and have them replace the door? Good luck with the lemon law, I'm not aware of any state where the lemon law only applies after one repair...

I am in New York, and I've had about 11 services on this car, and a total of month and half that the car was in the body shop fixing the door issue. VW admitted that the door they claimed was new was actually not a new door, and replaced the drivers side door properly this time. The wind noise is still an issue but not as much so as before. Also, my speakers keep blowing out. I've had them replaced about 4 times and I am going in next week to replace two more. I am tired of all these problems with this car!

I have a 2012 Jetta SE w/Convenience and Sunroof and I'm experiencing the same high-pitched whistle. The same exact thing: only happens above 40mph or so and does not happen when it rains. HELP!

We are considering purchasing a new 2012 Sport Wagon, and noticed the wind noise during the test drive. Is it that common, and no remedy? It is a deal breaker for us, otherwise seem happy with the car.

Unfortunately the noise doesnt seem to have any fix. Poor quality control is about the best I can give you. There is a possibility that the noise you are hearing may in fact be coming from the side view mirror.
I've lived with it for a year now and it's still as annoying as it was on day one. Take another test ride or maybe consider something else as VW can't fix this issue.

It has been over a year since I purchased the car and the wind noise problem is still not fixed. Volkswagen and their dealer have walked away from the problem and at this point it seems there is no fix to this defect. My suggestion to everyone is not to purchase this model car. The only thing that Volkswagen and its dealer will say is that the noise "falls within specifications".

Thanks for the response. Dealer gave use the wagon for the weekend, and the noise drove us nuts. When returning the keys to the service department, guy in front was back for his forth time for wind noise fix, and he was ballistic. We will keep our current vehicle until we a car we are happy with.

Whenever you use your winshield fluid the smell leaks right into the inside. You can probably get high off it

Never another vw. Took it to the dealership and complained about the window and they have nothing to say. Hope this company goes right to the ground. Will be laughing once it does!

I once ran into this problem with another make of vehicle. I vowed to never buy another car without first test driving a demo.

We have a 2011 jetta tdi and have had the same noise.....long story short.....we found it to be the driver side mirror making the noise.......while driving on the highway open the driver window and put your hand on the top of the outside mirror...when we did this the noise went away...it seems to be coming from the top edge of the outside mirror.......we went though all the same crap.......a week in the shop. replace the door seals...window seals...have the dealership run into our car and damage it etc etc......

My 2011 Jetta SportWagen is only one month old.

From the moment I drove the car off the dealers lot, there has been a wind noise problem coming from the window by my left ear. The noise starts when you go 50 MPH or above.

I've received many different stories from the dealer, Bayside VW located in Bayside (Queens), NY. First they said the door was defective and they were going to order "parts". Then they said they were having an "engineer" from VW corporate come down to look at the problem. Then they simple made some "adjustments".

Two days later the problem was back. Again I have returned the car to the dealer for repair. I will test the car again today on the highway.

AT VW corporate I spoke to a case manager who say the car "operates at factory specs". I asked the case manager to do the right thing and to replace the car. She said "the newcar will probably make the same noise". The dealers service department said many of these cars have the same problem. For VW corporate "factory specs" means the car can have wind noise from the window at speeds above 70 MPH!

Neither Bayside VW or VW corporate is being helpful.

I just ordered vanity license plates that say "VWLEMMON".

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

Lets be clear here... the sportwagen and sedan are two totally different vehicles and share no parts except the powertrain. The 2011 jetta sedan had a problem with windnoise in two places.... one a foam block fixed in the window seal and the other is an updated mirror housing to eliminate that whistle you hear at about 50 mph. The first is a recall the second is a TSB only for 2011.

I just got 2013 Jetta sport station wagon. I have exactly the same problem as in the first post in this thread as of 04-27-2011 08:41 AM about jetta 2011 model. There is an irritating wind noise that starts at about 50 miles per hour. Same story - dealer tried to replace rubber strip in the front driver side door, adjust doors etc. They tried to help, but then they probably realized that there is not much they can do since this seems to be a design/engineering/ VM manufacturing problem so they blamed it on aerodynamics of the car. Anyway, VM knows about that problem, if that started to happen at least in 2011 from the original post, but they've chosen not to do anything about it or even disclose to people that there is a problem - and we still have it in 2013. I would certainly not get this car if I knew about this problem. At the moment I'll proceed with contacting VM directly.
