Hello,
I received a letter recently from VW, stating that I should have the transmission checked at 60,000KM, on my 2009 Tiguan Comfortline.
I thought that the tramsmission is a sealed unit, and does not need any oil changes for the life of the car?
Does anybody know about this?
Please advise
Thanks

VW changed their tune a while ago and the transmission now required a fluid and filter change. It's wise to get it done.
Interesting.
My 2010 Tiguan is in the shop right now.
I took it in as it had developed a real noticeable "surge" or hard shift into 1st as I was coming to a complete stop.
They just called me to inform me that they have to order some "valve" or some such.
Apparently they haven't seen this on a Tiguan yet...but they have seen it on other models.
It has 43K kms on it...

I do believe it is all of North America. I just did a fluid change on my 07 (fill for life) Rabbit today. There was a good amount of sludge at the bottom of the pan, along with visible metal bits and the fluid was close to black. the car had 90,000 Km on it.
