Monsoon system?

How do i tell if I have the monsoon System, If I don't I want to redo the stereo system. The guys on here said i have to retro fit the speakers but the guy at the store said 4 by 6 should fit, and also how how hard is it to install a new head unit and speakers yourself or is this a take it to best buy job?

I'm going to assume you have a Rabbit or a GTI 2006-2009. if so, monsoon doesn't exist. If you happen to have a GTI and are one of the lucky ones to have DYNAUDIO, then the amp would be a huge black box bolted to the floor under your driver seat.

I have a 2008 Rabbit so i can throw regular speakers in it.

The speakers are not your problem. In fact, you might even REDUCE sound quality with aftermarket speakers. Get a really good head unit that can output the power OEM speakers need.

IMHO i lOVE the prem 7, i think its better than most oe HU and some aftermarket. I dont think im going to replace mine anytime soon.lol

well thank you guys, what do u think would look better a double din head unit or single, i havent seen a dash with a double, and is the power from the headunit or the quality i could runa four channel amp couldn't I?

I'd just upgrade the head unit. And I'd make it a double din... those look better imo
