HEllo everybody
I am excited to be the new owner of a 2011 VW CC. So far it has been a great car and there is absolutely nothing I don't love about it! I just have this one question tho:
I hear a 'rustling of leaves' kindda sounds from the engine at around 2500ish rpm. Is this the turbo kicking in ? I don't have prior experience with turbo engines so sorry if this sounds stupid.
The Audi A3 turbo apparently has the same noise but I don't know if the CC and the A3 have the same powerplant so....Can someone help me out here ? I won't have peace of mind until I know that is normal or something that can be fixed.
Thanks a lot

Welcome! This topic is a big discussion on here actually. There is a thread dedicated to it. It's the wastegate actuator arm rattling under partial boost. There is no fix at the moment but it's a totally normal noise for the 2.0TSI engine. Adding a weight to the arm will reduce it slightly. I would leave it alone for now.

Thanks a lot mate! At least it is not just in my car - good to know!
Another thing that I just noticed - the rear windows sliding up into the rubber grooves once the door is shut produces a slight 'squeak'. This is not the case with the front door windows though. This kindda happened after a really cold night so I am guessing something shrunk and the fitting became tighter ? Either way, is it again something to be worried about ? Would something like that hurt in the long run - maybe the 09 and 10 CC owners would know something ?

Get some silicone spray and spray the rubber seals. It keeps them happy in winter and prevents them from freezing and becoming brittle.

Nitro is there a certain brand of silicone spray you recommend for the rubber seals?
Current: 2010 Passat CC - Sportline DSG CW
Previous: 2008 Rabbit - Comfortline 5spd

Any spray silicone will work, but German silicone from VW works the best. EXPENSIVE but works great. head to your local dealer to grab some.
