good morning-anyone have any info on how to totally dis-able the low oil pressure buzzer on an 84 rabbit 1.6 diesel? i have a direct reading oil pressure gauge hooked up, tapped into the oil filter housing. the switches that i purchase seem to be of low quality, no longgevity-i'm tired of buying them-even though auto zone has lifetime guarantee, i still have to change them-most are made in china-mexico-india, etc. junk i'm sure. no german made switches it seems. my direct reading gauge reads 80 psi at operating temp at 60 mph. buzzer is annoying. sometimes it will re-set itself after i shut off-re-start. any info anyone? the usual thanx to you guys.
If you measure it, with a ohm meter, then you know what the base resistance is, either open or closed I can't remember. But if you take a 700 ohm resistor or something like it and place it in series with the connector, it will probably turn off....
You will need to measure with a VOM, the buzzer on, then the buzzer off. Match the resistor with the Buzzer off.
