You need new fans.
So this past weekend I notice some strange nosies coming from the fans on my Rabbit. Didn't think much of it, as it was around 105 degres here! So anyways the wife gets in it to go to work yesterday and the check engine light was on.I checked it out last night and only one (1) of the two (2) cooling fans was running, the larger one on the driver's side is working. I hooked up my scan tool, and it gave me the following information:
Code: P0481
Description: Cooling Fan Control Circut 2
Has anyone had experience with this, and can someone point me in the correct direction of what parts I will need (with a link, or part numbers!). Thanks

Yeah I own a rabbit. How does it drive? I wouldnt be able to tell you.
Fans? As in both? I know the smaller one on the passenger side isn't turning, but the big one on the driver's side is. SO why would it need to be replaced?? Also I will be looking for the procedures on how to replace them / it. That help will be appreciated too.

This is a common problem Nitroscope8 can provide you with all the details you need on how to repair it. I think you just need to replace one of them but Im not sure. You also may have to replace the Fan Control Module but once again Nitro is the one to talk to about this. Send him a PM. There are a couple of threads on here about this topic as well. I will try to find it for you when I get a chance.

Here's one thread about this matter, but there isn't much info.
