Normal.
I have a 2010 Tiguan with under 4000 miles and am bringing it in for it's 90 day check tomorrow. Since about the second week I had it, there has been a squealing noise coming from the breaks when the car is in reverse and I apply the breaks. This usually happens after its been sitting for a little while. I know VW breaks can make some noise at times as my jetta did, especially after it was sitting in the rain for a little while, however this is very loud and it's pretty embarrassing considering it is a new vehicle. Has anyone else experienced this?
Other than that, I'm very happy with the vehicle.
Thanks.

Normal.

Thanks...that's what my dealer said...and what I thought, however, it is embarassing!
not the only one, mine does it too and IT IS LOUD!!
I don't think this is normal, they should be burnished and seated by now, they also give off a lot of brake dust and is a bugger to keep clean
I have HEX-USB-CAN for anyone within 100km of my location, Guelph,ON CA
It's interesting to note that seems to be a NA problem. I've never heard a sound from mine (2 years old now) and I've never heard this complaint outside of NA. I wonder if they fit different brake pads in NA ??
Cheers

I know there is a TSB for 2006 passats B6 style for brake noise. The problem is the caliper bracket is too large and when the brakes are applied, the pads rattle causing the squeal. As of right now there are no tsbs for noise on teh Tiguan. The passat and tiguan use similar brakes.
