i have a mkIV golf, the other day i locked it with the key fob and now the battery in the fob has died so i cant open the car without the alarm going off,
how do i turn off the alarm with the manual key??
everything works fine except the alarm goes off all doors lock and/ or unlock, u must b able to turn the alarm off with the proper key (like when u start the engine? :S ), im afraid to try it incase i cant get it to turn off though haha
problem solved,
open the car with the key, started te engine which stopped the alarm then turned it off again, this must have reprogrammed the fob becuase it now works
You have an underlying issue here and you need to check it out. When you turn the key in the door to unlock, it disables the alarm. If it does not, then you have a bad latch or a bad wire (much less likely in your car) to the latch. The problem may be sporadic.
