2007 Eos - Can't hit trunk button and get to trunk before it locks/ VW Keys?

Back again! When we hit the trunk button to open it, there isn't enough time to get to the back of the car to lift the trunk. It's a two person job. Is there some way to adjust something to get this to work properly without taking it to the dealer? We don't have a warranty.

Also, our car was a repo and we have only the valet key. Does anyone know how/if we can get keys (remote also) made at a sensible price? The dealership price is really expensive.

The dealer is the ONLY place that can cut them for you. 07 is hte last year the dealer can do it. 08 and up need VW to send you one by using your VIN. So you need to have the dealer do it for you....sorry.

As for the trunk, open the lid. You will see two rubber stops in there. Stick a small allen key in there about an inch in and loosen it a few turns. Grab the rubber and pull out an eighth inch. retighten it and check. Keep adjusting until it's good. It's a 2.5 or 3mm allen that fits in there.

Thanks once again for your help. We do have a non-programmed or cut 2002 jetta key we had ordered on ebay when we thought we lost one. Is this one able to be cut and programmed for the eos? If so it might save us a bit of money.

No. The immobilizer for the eos will not work with any other key unless it's meant for YOUR car. You have a Gen 4 immobilzer. 02 is Gen III.

The remote part MAY work, but you wuld need the dealer to verify that.

Where exactly do we find the rubber stops?
Is there a way to adjust the dash display settings to metric (celcius, litres)? Will we damage the car if we use regular gas, not 91 octane? Here in Nova Scotia, gas is over $4 a gallon for the "cheap" stuff.

Call your local dealer. You may have a warranty and all this is covered for free. Yes, you can go through the dash menu and change your settings. You must use premium fuel, this engine does not like anything under 91 octane. The rubber stops are on the trunk lid. They rest on the bumper when closed.

Unfortunately the car has 76000 miles so they told us that the only thing still covered is the computer module and emissions stuff, unless there is something additional you know about other than that? It sure would be nice to have some things covered under the warranty.

I have the same problem. I've taken it to the dealer 9 times already, and they can't seem to get it adjusted right. Last time, they replaced the stops, and it's worse than ever!

This diagnosis is correct, but on my 2008 Eos it just won't stay fixed. I have been to my dealer so many times about this problem. I have been dealing with VW customer service in Michigan and with the regional technical rep. They are all very helpful, and because the problem arose under warranty, I haven't had to pay, but it's frustrating. Sometimes, the fix will stay for a while, but not for long. I need to get the right size Allen key.
