Howdy. Just figured I'd add another forum to my list of forums to check every day.
Anyway, got a '70 Beetle I'm chopping up.

A dumped Super, nice!
Thanks for the welcome guys! I mostly post on volksrods.com (*cough* January Crazy Bastard of the Month *cough*), but I joined this site back when my fiance got her '07 Rabbit to check for any cool warranty saving mods we could do to it. Haven't done anything to it yet.
I'd like to do articles on both of your beetles. Let me know if you're game.

Nothing will void the warranty on her car, no worries. If a mod causes a problem, obviously it won't be covered under warranty - but they have to prove your part caused the fault. If you've got an intake and your steering wheel falls off, you're fine. If your MAF gets oil on it from the aftermarket air filter, that's on you. Exhaust is the least risky mod to do since it doesn't touch anything.

I understand that, but it's hard to explain that to her, hell, I've even told her I'd fab up an exhaust and then just bolt on the factory one when she goes in for service. I also own a Subaru and there were alot of voided warranties or dealerships refusing to service WRXs when they first came out if they had so much as an aftermarket blow off valve, so I'm just trying to avoid that possible headache for now.

Ahh, very cool! The old school stuff is really starting to grow on me...though I still love the latest technology![]()

Man that is going to be soo sweet keep up the good work and don't forget to keep us updated!!!!
Thanks Todd K.....
Engine is about done, just need to bolt on the exhaust and then I'll be hanging it on the car to start fab'in up a bed (tomorrow night probably). Either this thing will run quite well, or not at all. I pulled the heads and resealed the pushrod tubes, cleaned all of that and the block. Adjusted the valves once the heads were back on, none of them were correct. Rebuilt the distributor and installed new plugs and wires (might still do the coil). And then I just cleaned and painted everything else and installed Stainless hardware where I could and some chrome goodies. I'm happy with it.

Am I welcome on here? I have two VW Beetle Wizard convert kits,
a blue 1970 very Beetle looking and a 1972 White one which is lowered and chopped.
White 1972 VW Wizard Kit
Blue 1970 VW Wizard kit
Others cars including a 2001 Bullitt Mustang
Of course you're welcome here, but you should probably post pictures.
Fab'ed up a bed over the last two weeks and mounted it tonight. Still have to add vents to the engine cover on top and trim the rollpan to fit over the exhaust. Then figure out taillights and license plate.
