USA specs say it will use Premium gas. does anyone know if that is requirment or can you use the lower and less $$ fuel with out issues????
I asked the VW Canada rep at the June Jitter Bug show today about the premium gas requirement, and he said that although the car will run on regular, you will not get the power or mileage (economy) of premium, and they did not recommend regular gas.

I put premium in mine usually.. As mentioned - I think it's OK to put lower grades in you just don't get the performance...
I hate gas prices... I travel to Europe a lot so I see what really bad prices look like.. Whenever I gas up I here I imagine my friends in England saying "Oh shut up... You "yanks" still pay half of what we do"..
the manual says regular gas or premium. its up to you but performance will be poorer and regular gas is "dirty".
Great - something for the wife to complain about. She hates it when one of our cars requires Premium fuel.
