Does anyone know what the situation will be using an iPod in the Tig? i've seen an iPod adaptor in the accessories list and also mention of the aux. input. We've gone with the base audio system and I know my wife ( yes, it's her who will be the fortunate driver! ) will want to use the iPod. Since delivery is scheduled for her birthday, and her iPod is nearing the end of it's life, I plan to slip a new one into the cab as a birthday present, but want to be sure it will run without issues.
My Tig has an aux input and dc power in the center console.. Pretty nice.. Plug in the IPOD and leave it in the console.. No exposed wires...
remember to set radio preference to AUX ..
i have a 2007 skoda octavia with aux output-i purchased a jack from apple direct -but any aux jack will do-the sound reproduction thru the car radio is what you would expect from a good quality stereo -only problem is to find somewhere to locate the i pod that you can change tracks as you wish- a dash mounted holder with the jack attached can get messy-but this is still more efficient than these flimsy wireless adaptors
go for it
those FM adapters are good... But as soon as I get within 60 miles of New York City - I can't seem to find a place to find that doesnt already have a signal...![]()
From what I understand the U.S. versions with NAV (RNS-510) have an MDI interface that will let you plug in the iPod in the glove compartment. Hopefully it will also charge/provide power through this cable as well.....
Yeah, that is what I heard, and it also charges the Ipod. I had one in my Honda. I spoke to the dealer about an interface for the regular 6 CD/sat. radio like in my Tiguan SE and the tech, who is very familiar with accesories, said he hasn't heard anything yet. I guess I will just buy a remote for my ipod so that I don't have to keep lifting the armrest to change the song.
