I read the other post about buying a 2007 Rabbit so will keep that in mind - what I'm looking at is a 2007 4-door, automatic, moon roof with 29,000 miles.
At a dealer in California - $12k before taxes, etc. (plus they said, 100k bumper to bumper warranty).
One owner, but we have not seen a CARFAX yet. This dealer doesn't have a great reputation and they were very pushy - but that doesn't mean the car isn't good.
We walked away the first time we saw this car because we were just starting to look and were mostly looking at new cars.
So -- good deal? Thanks for your opinions.

seems a little cheap to me...

Kelly Blue Book on that is around 14-15K. Wonder why it's less?

We're going back today to see what the real deal is. When we were there last time, the price was down to $13k and then he said, knowing that we were looking at other cars, "don't buy anything over $12k without coming back here" - or something to that effect. Which we took to mean he was offering the car at $12k. I don't really trust these guys but ? The car was parked in the parking lot with all the stuff in it from the couple that were trading it in so we couldn't really look at it at the time - another reason I didn't feel comfortable buying it right then.
We'll see what happens when we go back - the price might go up drastically.
I got my 07 rabbit (1 owner) for $12500. It had the vortex body kit, 17'' TSW and about 14000 miles. They were asking $15500 but at times like now, dealerships are in need of money. You can get a great car for cheep. Good luck on the buy, it could just turn out to be a great buy

Just wanted to follow up on this thread. We never made it back to see the real deal on the Rabbit - I have a feeling it was a good car and I certainly love VW but I went a different direction for a car so I guess I'll have to hang up my Rabbit ears (couldn't resist that). Thanks for the information.
